The Palos Verdes Peninsula Association of REALTORS® (PVPAR) is proud to offer the new Palos Verdes Specialist (PVS) class. This designation is designed to provide you the information you need to be considered a specialist in the area. As an active member, you will receive a pin, a logo (digital image or camera-ready art) to use in your marketing materials, recognized on the PVPAR website as an Active PVS member along with photo and contact information and will have access to a special Palos Verdes Specialist webpage.

The program will include the following:

DAY 1:
  • HISTORY:
    • The Palos Verdes Library Historians will present the History session and will include topics such as:
      • The first and second wave of development (Post WWII) in the Area
      • The Architecture, Agriculture and Military history
      • Interesting facts on the Movies that were shot on the Peninsula
      • A special tour and exhibit of the in-hour history department with information on the many resources and programs the Palos Verdes Library has available for you and your clients.
      • So much more!
DAYS 2 & 3:
  • The next two days will include a bus tour of the area & morning city hall visits to each of our four cities.
    • CITY VISITS:
      • Meet with city planning director/officials who will share with you all real estate related information regarding their own city. Updates on what is going on and what is in their future. Everything a REALTOR® will need to help support their clients with their home buying and selling needs.
    • POINTS OF INTEREST:
      • The bus tour will also include stops and/or drive-by historic sites, special geological locations, cultural interests and more. All this information can be shared with your clients letting them know that you are 'invested' and 'knowledgeable' of the culture, the history and the special interests of the Peninsula's residence.
    • SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS:
      • After the morning tours, we will return to the Association where lunch will be served while interesting and informative presentations are given. Topics such as Geology, Architecture, Septic Tanks, PV School District, Palos Verdes Land Conservancy, lending information on creative financing, etc. and local REALTOR® protocols and issues will be presented and how they all relate to the Peninsula.

Certification Requirements:
  • You must attend all 3 sessions to receive the Palos Verdes Designation.
    • Please check and save ALL three dates on your calendar prior to registering!
    • Due to the structure of the course which is based on the City visits, Special speakers, and the Bus Tours, the Spring and Fall courses may not be in the same format, therefore, there will be NO make-ups sessions once the class starts.
  • Active membership with PVPAR must be maintained to continue to be recognized as a PV Specialist with the Association and to utilize the designation in your marketing materials. (Primary or Secondary membership)

Please Note:
Requests for refunds must be received AT LEAST 7 days prior to the first class.
There will be NO refunds or make-ups once the classes start.
You will be required to re-register and pay all fees again, as well as attend all three class sessions.
