We are pleased that you have decided to become a part of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Association of REALTORS® (PVPAR). The PVPAR represents over 700 real estate professionals who conduct business on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and surrounding South Bay area and is one of the local boards of the California Association of REALTORS®.

There are many services available through the Association, National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) and through the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The following information will assist you in the completion of the application process.

Q: What are the qualifications to join the PVPAR?
A: You need a valid California Driver's License or ID and a valid California Department of Real Estate (CalBRE) License.
  • Salesperson: Your Broker must be a member of PVPAR to be eligible to join and your Broker must be reflected under the CalBRE records online.
    • Secondary membership is available
  • Brokers: If you hold a broker's license, you are eligible to join under your own license.
  • Appraisers: Must provide the Association with a copy of your Appraisers Certification.

Q: How much does it cost to join the PVPAR?
A: Contact the association at 310.377.4873 for member pricing.

Q: Do I need to fill out an application to join the PVPAR?
A: Yes, the application can be downloaded here: REALTOR® Application.

Q: Once I fill out the application, what do I need to do?
A: After completing the application in detail, if you are a Salesperson, have your Designated REALTOR® (Broker) sign your application (See page 5 of the application) and your Broker of Record must be reflected under the CalBRE records online.

Q: What do I need to do next to sign up with PVPAR?
A: Please contact the association at 310.377.4873 to make an appointment and allow approximately an hour to process your application. You will need to bring with you the following items: the signed application, a copy of your California Driver's License or ID, a copy of your Department of Real Estate License and a form of payment. Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card (Amex, MC, Visa, or Discover).

Q: What are the hours for the Membership Department?
A: PVPAR regular business hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:00pm and we request that you contact the association at 310.377.4873 to make an appointment so we may be able to service you promptly and efficiently. The processing time to complete an application is approximately 1 hour.

Q: Are there any additional requirements that must be met to complete and finalize my membership with PVPAR?
A: Yes, you will be scheduled for a New Member Orientation Class once you have applied for membership and paid your membership dues. For new licensees:
The NAR Code of Ethics online course needs to be completed prior to the New Agent Orientation date and can be accessed at the following link: https://www.nar.realtor/code-of-ethics/training, and you will utilize your new NRDS number to sign into the NAR site and access the FREE Course for New Members for the Code of Ethics training requirement. Once completed, forward a copy of the certificate to the association to: pvpar@pvpar.com. (Failure to attend the New Member Orientation class or complete the Code of Ethics training requirement can result in the deactivation of your services.)
